Rzeszów – City-wide Modernisation

A flagship project in the capital of Podkarpacie — where modernising 3,800+ luminaires across 200 streets required precision engineering, minimal disruption, and a result that matches the city's growing stature.

Context & Challenge

The scale of modernisation in a large city means working in high-traffic areas with a large number of users. Lighting must meet normative requirements while limiting undesirable phenomena — glare, unevenness, light spill beyond the road area. Simultaneously, the local government expected measurable economic impact: reduction of energy consumption and infrastructure maintenance costs.

Scope & Solution

The project involved replacing over 3,800 luminaires with LED fixtures across approximately 200 city streets, along with adapting power supply and control elements and implementing power reduction profiles. Linter Energia's approach focused on precise light distribution where it's needed — on roads and sidewalks — while ensuring visual comfort for users. In practice, this meant selecting distributions and parameters that improve lighting uniformity and reduce glare, as well as preparing for further digitalisation of the infrastructure (control, monitoring, maintenance).

Outcome

The investment resulted in visibly improved light quality in public spaces and a significant reduction in energy costs. For a regional capital, this is also a key element of spatial 'legibility' after dark: better-lit communication corridors, safer crossings and intersections, and a more consistent standard across different parts of the city. The Rzeszów project strengthens Linter Energia's portfolio as a contractor capable of delivering projects of high reputational and quality significance.

DELIVERED SCOPE

Technologies and equipment deployed.

200 streets, over 3,800 luminaires — and a visible difference in lighting quality from day one. The city is safer after dark and energy costs have dropped significantly. Exactly what we needed.
